Young Crowson petitions friar.
In a world of intertwined church and state, battles for power raged,
leaving the masses to fend for themselves. At the end of Pope Gregory IX’s tumultuous reign, one man rose above the ranks
of the downtrodden to proclaim a brighter tomorrow.
Depicted here in illuminated manuscript, the audacious
monk Crowson reintroduced the checkmark to the darkened eyes of the West. It became a rallying standard and symbol of hope and truth for humanity.
